Our Final event for the year was a fittingly fabulous and festive finale!

We introduced some spectacular talent and welcomed back some of our favourite Aussie artists including Amelia Cormack, Lucinda Shaw and Amy Edwards as our Aussie Xmas Priscilla Divas and the legendary Ray ‘Flamin Alf Stewart ‘ Maher.

Segue Steven was back in the room and on top form and the incomparable Genevieve Lemon joined us again as well for her penultimate performance in London before she returns to Australia.  Gen gave us a sample of her cabaret ‘Don’t You Know Who I Am?’ which she is performing at The King’s Head Theatre on Sunday November 20. All proceeds go to the Charlotte Leatherbarrow Foundation and bookings can be made by calling 0207 478 0160. Gen we miss you already!

Former Young Talent Timer John Bowles opened the show and sang us out in iconic YTT style with All my Lovin.  What a wonderful nostalgic treat is was for everyone to ‘sway’ with John singing and saying ‘Good night Australia’! Thanks to Mike Guy on piano.

Fresh from Japan where has she been appearing as Elphaba in Wicked, Erin Cornell blew everyone away with her beautiful and powerful vocals and we were introduced to the soulful original music of Nathan Pinnell who has just joined the cast of Legally Blonde.

The stunning Jane Cho performed from her rocking ‘Elektra’ set and entertained us with stories of her childhood. See www.janechomusic.com

Wendy Purdy gave us our own little taste of the great British tradition of Pantomime as ‘Fairy Liquid’ which had everyone cheering, booing and hissing and laughing hysterically!

Our special guest Megan Washington AKA ‘WASHINGTON’ joined us at the end of her UK tour. The ARIA Winner wowed everyone with beautiful vocals and wonderful banter and defiintely earned some new fans here in the UK. Check out her website http://washingtonmusic.com.au/

Make sure you also check out our gallery for all the great pics by Mark Adlington.  Guests on the day had an opportunity to sit on ‘Santa’s’ knee in our Winter ‘Boogie’ Wonderland designed by Ben Mach.  Looks like this year’s Christmas cards are sorted!

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been along to Sunday in the Apartment this year for supporting Australian talent in the UK.  It’s been a joyous ride so far and I’m looking forward to continuing on in 2012.

Thank you also to all of the talent who have been a part of our first 5 events – you’re all incredible!

Finally, huge thanks go to our major sponsors The Australia Day Foundation and Australian Business for their continued support, especially Phil Aiken, Judy Cooper and the amazing Kim Dillon.

I want to wish you all a safe and happy festive season.  Lots of love to you and yours – I look forward to seeing you back at Sunday in the Apartment next year!

Nick.
